Vacancy: Food Lab Technician

Will you write history with the development of your cheese from microbially obtained protein?

We are looking for a Lab Technician with a strong interest and experience in proteins and taking novel ingredients from applied research to commercialization. The successful candidate should be a person with a creative mindset with a hands-on approach who enjoys challenges.

Job description:

• Perform routine quantitative and qualitative laboratory assays on ingredients and applications, independently or with intermediate supervision from our team.
• Assist the development of dairy applications by conducting formulation experiments and cheesemaking trials, and by participating in the team brainstorm for future experimental strategies
• Generate and apply knowledge about the functionality and the characteristics of our microbial casein
• Process and document test results for clear communication within the team, and support interpretation with our cheese and protein experts
• Ensure food safe working practices and a clean working environment in the shared lab/kitchen spaces
• Take care of your personal and team safety by following the correct procedures and policies
• Communicate with internal stakeholders through meetings and clearly written emails and reports

Your profile:

• Degree in Food Technology or Lab Technology, with min. 1 year of relevant experience in an R&D environment
• Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative analysis for the food industry, such as rheology, sensory, gel electrophoresis and/or spectrophotometry
• Practical experience with food products and processes
• Knowledge of professional computer software for data processing via Microsoft Office
• Able to work independently with a team player attitude
• Flexible within a dynamic environment, ability to multi-task
• Communication and organizational skills (interpretation and documentation of data, report writing, planning).
